How to Get Freight Forwarding Clients in the UAE: B2B Leads from Google

Quick answer: to get freight forwarding clients in the UAE, show up where shippers search: by lane ("shipping from China to Dubai by sea", "land transport Dubai to Saudi"), by service (LCL, customs clearance, dangerous goods), by place (Jebel Ali, Mussafah, Sharjah) and, in Arabic, by destination across the region. That means one page per lane and per service; teaching pages on HS codes, import duty and Saudi certificates; a quote form that asks the five questions a quote needs; a Google Business Profile for each real office; and trust pages listing licences, memberships and insurance that procurement teams and AI assistants can check.

How shippers search for a forwarder

A forwarder's buyer is an import manager, a procurement officer, a trading-company owner in Deira or an e-commerce founder bringing in a first container. None of them searches for "logistics solutions". They search a lane, a service or a problem.

On 23 October 2026 we typed the obvious first words into Google with UAE settings, in English and Arabic, and noted what autocomplete suggested. It is not a volume tool, but it is Google's own record of how people ask.

The last row matters. In the UAE, "cargo" plus a home-country city and a price per kilo is mostly residents sending boxes home, a busy, price-driven market of its own. "Freight", "forwarder", "LCL", "customs broker" and a commercial origin such as China signal a business buyer. A forwarder that writes for the wrong half fills its inbox with one-box enquiries, so decide which market you serve and say so on the page.

The trade behind the searches

Lane pages should follow the trade, and the UAE publishes where it goes.

Up 13.1% in a year. UAE non-oil foreign trade was AED 1.395 trillion in the first half of 2024, AED 1.728 trillion in the first half of 2025 and AED 1.937 trillion in the first half of 2026. China (AED 180.7 billion), Switzerland (AED 138.4 billion, mostly gold) and India (AED 107.5 billion) were the largest partners in 2026. Official figures released through the Government of Dubai Media Office.

Non-oil foreign trade reached AED 1.937 trillion in the first half of 2026, 13.1% up on a year earlier, with non-oil exports at a record AED 452.8 billion, as Khaleej Times reported from the official half-year figures. Egypt, Oman and Hong Kong were among the fastest-growing partners, and trade with countries whose comprehensive economic partnership agreements (CEPA) are in force reached AED 304.3 billion. For most forwarders the useful reading is China and India in, the GCC and Africa out, and CEPA markets as the lanes to watch. India makes the point: Dubai Chambers puts Dubai's non-oil trade with India at a record AED 222.5 billion in 2025, up 15% on the year, with the UAE-India CEPA in force since May 2022. A forwarder that runs India lanes and has no page for them is leaving that demand to whoever does.

At sea, Jebel Ali handled about 15.55 million TEU in 2025 by DP World's own results, roughly flat on 2024. Its origin-and-destination volumes, the boxes that start or end in the UAE rather than change ships there, grew about 9%. That is the cargo a UAE forwarder handles, and it grew faster than the headline.

SEO for freight forwarders: the pages your website needs

Most forwarder websites say the same thing: sea, air and land freight, worldwide, a container ship at sunset and a "request a quote" button. None of that matches a search. The pages that win are specific.

Transit times. "shipping from china to dubai how many days" is a suggestion because shippers plan around it. Publish your own typical ranges per lane, labelled as typical, and say what stretches them.

Rates. You cannot publish live rates; they change weekly. You can publish what a quote depends on and a dated example of a real shipment. A page that answers the price question honestly brings fewer, better quote requests.

Trust, in text. NAFL, the National Association of Freight and Logistics, has represented the UAE in FIATA, the international forwarders' federation, since 1992, the year it was founded in Dubai. Membership, licence numbers and insurance cover are what a procurement team checks before it adds you to a tender list. Put them on a page Google can read, not in a PDF company profile.

Shippers abroad. A factory in Guangzhou or Gujarat choosing a UAE partner searches from its own country, often in its own language. Lane pages built for those markets are international SEO work, and they compete in a different contest from your Dubai pages.

Teaching pages that bring importers to you early

The visitor most likely to become a client is often not looking for a forwarder yet. They are trying to work out an HS code, what landing their goods will cost or what a Saudi certificate is, and the company that explains it clearly is the one they ask for a quote.

What they searchThe teaching pageWhy it brings leads
hs code uae customs · perfume hs code uaeHow to find the HS code for your product, with examples by categoryA wrong code means delays and penalties, so readers want someone to check theirs
import duty from china to dubaiWhat it costs to land goods in the UAE, worked on one real shipmentAnswers the cost question before the quote
★ saber certificate requirementsShipping to Saudi Arabia: the certificates your goods needThe rules keep changing, and a clear, dated page is rare
how to import goods from china to dubaiA first importer's guide: licence, importer code, documents, stepsBrings new importers, who need the most help and stay longest

Keep these pages dated and attributed to the authority. Under the GCC common customs tariff most goods enter the UAE at 5% duty on their CIF value, plus 5% VAT, with exemptions and higher rates for some goods; say so, cite Dubai Customs, and work one example through. For Saudi Arabia, SABER is the conformity platform run by the Saudi standards body SASO: shipments need a shipment certificate, and regulated products a product certificate as well. The details changed in 2025, so the page needs a "last checked" date and someone who updates it.

Arabic deserves its own effort. The Arabic suggestions name destinations a Dubai forwarder serves every week, from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam to Muscat and Amman, and inbound lanes from China to Iraq, Libya and Syria, markets Dubai has long served as a re-export hub. Few UAE forwarders answer them in Arabic. Lane and customs pages written natively in Arabic, the work our Arabic SEO team does, tend to face far less competition than their English twins.

Lead generation ends at the quote form

A forwarder's lead generation is only as good as what happens after the click. Shippers send three or four quote requests at once. The forwarder that replies first with a real number usually wins, and a form that asks the right questions is what makes a fast, real number possible. Five questions are enough: origin and destination; what the cargo is, with the HS code if known and whether it is dangerous goods; weight, volume or container type; the Incoterm and who pays which leg; and the ready date. Add a WhatsApp button, reply within the hour in working time, and record the source of every request so you know which pages earn their keep.

B2B leads from pages procurement could check: Binaa Core. Not a forwarder, but the same buyer. An Al Quoz fit-out contractor that lived on LinkedIn and tender boards had 610 organic sessions and 5 qualified RFP enquiries a month. The work: the site grew from 12 to 60 URLs, sector pages went live, tender-verification pages (licence, HSE policy, insurance) were indexed, an Arabic commercial cluster followed, and a five-question RFP intake form replaced the generic contact form. After 21 months, qualified RFP enquiries were 26 or more a month and organic sessions 2,340 or more, with "office fit out company dubai" at position three. The detail is in the Binaa Core case study.

Google Business Profile still matters for a B2B forwarder

"freight forwarding companies in jebel ali" and "customs clearance agent dubai" bring up a map. Give each real office its own profile with the primary category that fits, such as Freight forwarding service, and secondaries such as Customs broker only where true. Mirror your service pages in the services list, add photos of the warehouse and trucks rather than stock ships, and ask shippers for reviews that name the lane you handled. Google does not accept virtual offices unless they are staffed during business hours, so list only premises where your people work.

Where freight forwarders get clients: every channel compared

Ask how logistics companies get clients and the honest answer is several channels at once. A workable freight forwarding marketing strategy uses each for what it does best.

ChannelWho owns the clientWhat it costs youUse it for
Forwarder networksYour overseas agentMembership feesPartners for the far end of a lane

★ Search and your own siteYouContent and timeLane and service demand, all year

What sets search apart is that a lane page you own keeps bringing shippers after the membership lapses and the marketplace changes its fees. Paid search has a place too, mainly to test a new lane before you build pages for it: a few weeks of ads on "freight forwarder China to Dubai" tell you how many real enquiries a lane produces and at what cost, which is cheaper than finding out from a year of content.

Getting on the shortlist when buyers ask ChatGPT

Procurement teams now ask assistants for shortlists: "Which freight forwarders in Dubai handle LCL from China and customs clearance into Saudi Arabia?" The assistant names companies whose own sites state those lanes and services in text and whose claims are corroborated elsewhere: association member lists, directories, news mentions, reviews that name the lane. A forwarder whose site says only "global logistics solutions" gives it nothing to quote. The fix is a short facts block on the homepage and each office page, in plain sentences: the lanes you run, the cargo you accept and refuse, your offices and free-zone or mainland licences, your memberships and accreditations, and how fast you quote. It reads as dull copy and works as the paragraph an assistant lifts into its answer. Our ten checks for when ChatGPT does not mention your business apply to forwarders as they are.

What SEO for a freight forwarder costs, and what one client is worth

Our SEO retainers are AED 3,399, AED 5,499 and AED 8,299 a month, set out on our SEO packages page. A single-office forwarder with two or three core lanes is usually well served by Starter; several offices or many lanes need Mid; a group building lane pages for overseas markets and in Arabic at scale is the Rapid Growth case. Measure it on gross profit, not revenue, because most of a freight invoice is the carrier's money passing through.

New regular shipping clients a year needed to cover a year of SEO retainer, by the client's annual gross profit For a client worth AED 12,000 gross profit a year: Starter 3.4 clients, Mid 5.5, Rapid Growth 8.3. AED 30,000: 1.4, 2.2 and 3.3. AED 60,000: 0.7, 1.1 and 1.7. Illustrative. Illustrative, on gross profit. A year of Starter costs AED 40,788, Mid AED 65,988 and Rapid Growth AED 99,588. A regular shipper worth AED 12,000 a year in gross profit means 3.4, 5.5 or 8.3 new clients a year to cover them; at AED 30,000 it is 1.4, 2.2 and 3.3; at AED 60,000 it is 0.7, 1.1 and 1.7. Use your own margins.

Worked example: a forwarder in Jebel Ali. Illustrative. Twenty staff, focused on LCL from China and road freight to Saudi Arabia. Months one to three: lane pages for China to Dubai by sea and Dubai to Riyadh by road, an LCL service page, a trust page with licences and memberships, a five-question quote form. Months four to six: an HS-code guide, a SABER explainer with a last-checked date, Arabic versions of the Saudi pages. A regular importer shipping two LCL consolidations a month at AED 1,250 gross profit each is worth AED 30,000 a year, so 2.2 such clients a year cover Mid.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get clients for a freight forwarding business in the UAE?

Combine direct sales on the lanes you run well with being findable for the lanes, services and problems shippers search: one page per lane and per service, teaching pages on HS codes, duty and Saudi certificates, a quote form that captures the cargo details, a Google Business Profile for each real office, and trust pages listing licences, memberships and insurance.

Is SEO worth it for a freight forwarding company in Dubai?

Usually, because one regular shipper is worth a lot. Our retainers are AED 3,399, AED 5,499 or AED 8,299 a month. A client worth AED 30,000 a year in gross profit means about 1.4 new regular clients a year cover Starter and 2.2 cover Mid. Expect the first months to go on pages, not leads.

Which pages should a freight forwarder's website have?

A page for each lane you run, each service, each kind of specialist cargo you handle and each real office; trust pages with your licences, customs registration, NAFL or FIATA membership and insurance; teaching pages on HS codes, duty and Saudi rules; and Arabic versions of the lane and customs pages.

Should freight forwarders publish rates online?

Not live rates, which change weekly. Publish what a quote depends on, typical transit ranges for your lanes, and a dated worked example of a real shipment. That answers the price question honestly and brings better-qualified quote requests.

Do UAE freight forwarders need Arabic pages?

If they serve Saudi Arabia, the wider GCC, Iraq or North Africa, yes. Google's Arabic suggestions include shipping from Dubai to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam and sea freight from China to Iraq, and few UAE forwarders answer those searches in Arabic.

How do I get my freight company recommended by ChatGPT?

State your lanes, services, cargo types, offices and certifications in plain text on your own site, keep them consistent with your Google Business Profile and directory listings, and earn corroboration from association member lists, news mentions and reviews that name the lane you handled.
